A P01 PCM from a 2001 or 2002 Express / Savana with the L31 5.7L or L30 5.0L engine has a calibration setup for a 4x CKP. For the P01 PCM to correctly control your 1999 Vortec based engine platform (4x CKP and a 1x CMP in the distributor), it must be programmed as a 2001 or 2002 Express / Savana with either an L30 or L31 calibration.
