Dealers want to replace tank $2000. I finally filled up both DEF tanks with Blue DEF Platinum but still the check engine light would come on. I was putting X3d up for sale and disclosed the Check Engine Light fully. About a week after posting, I thought that I would clear the codes just for the hell of it and Lo and Behold, the check engine ...The DEF is perfectly fine to use. The problem is the "water hammer" effect created when the DEF tank goes full can blow DEF out through the air stone vents for DEF tank. The DEF dries up and crystallizes in the air stone vents and they get clogged. So later as the car pumps DEF out of the tank, the vacuum created collapses and cracks the tank.…
