I certainly agree that Titewad is great at 7/8 oz but it's density is such that it seems like 3/4 oz is going to be difficult with the normal 7/8 oz wads (DR-XXL, CB-0178, etc.) without some sort of filler - at least that was my experience when I tried it some time ago.

On paper, 9.6 grains yields a 980 fps load with 3/4 oz shot, STS hulls and CB0178-12 wad. This is the closest I have been able to approximate the AA Featherlite loads. MEC #25 bushing, 7/8 chilled #8 shot, grey wad, WinAA, STS, or Federal Gold Medal hulls.AFAIK, the Winchester 980 fps load can only be duplicated with WaaLite powder. The Hodgdon site still lists loads for WaaLite, but it is no longer manufactured. You can find data for subsonic loads, and they will recoil less than a standard 1200 fps load, but the 980 load was and is a one off load.
