Unity's 2D system kinda sucks imo, it's just a kinda haphazard extension of the 3D system. I might be a bit biased though since I'm a huge open source software fan. Reason is that in the tab "Project --> Lua Interpreter" you can set Löve2D as your interpreter, making it so that you don't have to use something like the "Command Prompt" (if you're using Windows).
