Failed NCLEX at 85, Lost Dream Job Offer & Feeling Defeated. Hi friends! I’ve been a long time lurker on this Reddit and feeling hopeless. I graduated 4 months ago (3.9 GPA, honors, mostly good student), spent ~3 weeks studying on/off. Found out this morning I failed at 85. It took me 4 hrs 38 min to do 85q before it cut me off.1,403 Posts. Mar 6, 2017. Yesterday I took the NCLEX. I started at 2pm and finished at 430pm. The test shut off at 95 questions and it ended with a SATA question that I know I got right. I felt all the color leave my face and I wanted to vomit right there in the middle of the testing center when that computer shut off!No one has failed and so far all have passed at 85. With that in mind I only used archer and got through half the questions. The way archer phrases questions was extremely similar to the actual NCLEX, especially NG questions. Meaning you have to answer questions correctly at least 50% of the time. If by 85 questions the nclex is 95% confident you can or cannot do that, it will shut off. Just like you i failed at 85, I changed my attack the second try. went back to the drawing board studied total of 6weeks. Finished MK course Followed up with Archer content + qBanks Studied law of prioritization and secrets of NCLEX. I haven't heard of anyone yet...that I know who has taken the NCLEX-PN reached 85 questions and failed..I know that you can pass at 85 or fail at 85 just as you can pass at 275 or fail at 275 or in between too. It meant that you were unable to demonstrate that you can make the safe clincial judgement call 50% of the time when asked. Ok that is a relief. I just took my nclex-pn today and I got tons of sata questions. Like I would say at least 50. It shut off at 85 and I just don't feel that great about it. Took mine in november and it shut off at 87 questions and I passed and PVT worked for me and all my classmates.The NCLEX-RN has a minimum of 75 questions and a maximum of 145, and the X-PN has a minimum of 85 questions and a maximum of 205. If your exam shuts off at 62 questions, it likely means that the computer-adaptive algorithm determined that you have not answered the minimum number of questions and met the failing standard.…
