So, the GE X144 oven might not light up because the igniter has gone bad. Normally, the igniter glows in orange color when it's switched on. When the igniter is hot enough, the gas valve will open and gas will be supplied via burner. As a result, the igniter will light up the gas that's coming through the burner and the oven will heat up.I also did not hear the gas start at the bottom of the oven. After some research I found the ignitor, even though it was glowing red, was not getting hot enough so the gas would not release to be lit. I replaced the ignitor (4 screws and 1 connector) and the oven started right up. Just make sure you put the ignitor back in the original orientation.
