It's fairly uncommon (though not completely unheard of) for GD patches to completely invalidate a build; usually they just tweak bonuses here and there. Stupid Dragon had a fire templar (arcanist/oathkeeper) build that used Conflagration from levels 50 to 90 or so so I think it should remain viable for you for some time yet.
