I unplugged the transformer for the alarm keypads/control panel. Still chirped. Then I turned off the circuit breaker for the smoke detectors, still chirped.On Honeywell/Ademco systems, sounds come from the keypad unless it's actively in alarm. The correct code to silence a Vista system trouble is [code] + 1 (off). You do need to be specific on model.
