It would go down unassisted. I tried to reset the memory but it made a few beeps and went dead. Now it doesn't even want to latch. I opened the center panel cover in the tailgate and tried using a screwdriver to move the latch bar.There have been other recent reports of vehicles where the mechanical key would not work.
