#1 · Jul 23, 2009. Looking for a source for serial numbers to age the double barrel, double exposed hammer, double trigger J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company shotgun. The serial numberr 70478, possibly a 12 or 16 gauge. It's rusted, pitted and probably not of much monetary value as much as it's sentimental value. Any help will be most appreciated.This 235 has the roll mark J. Stevens Arms & Tool on the roll mark placing it in the 1909 - 1915 production era. I haven't found the serial number yet to hopefully …
