The team was named Sassy because of the cute dance moves and Divaz because of the stylish costumes. In a city that was saturated with step teams, drill teams, and traditional dance studios, the Sassy Divaz got an overwhelming response and the team became the first independent community majorette team in Kansas City.Students and spectators chanted and danced to the upbeat music booming through the building.
