Planned for a 6 day backpacking trip starting and ending at Cottonwood Pass going up to Whitney, down to Crabtree Lake, up and over the pass and down Miter Basin. Turned into a 4 day for a couple reasons. Had to change routes part of the way through and decided to plow through the 20 mile last day. Hey T2n. I have found three places where I was able to make calls. 1. The east side of Lone Pine Lake. A bit of a hike off of the main trail, but you can make a call from there. 2. The ridge right before Consultation Lake. 3. The Summit.Looks like the wind or something moved the camera. Good view of the powerlines though. Kinda surprized Doug doesn't go tweak it back to Whitney.Hope he isn't waiting for Steve to drive over and fix it.Weather on Mt Whitney varies greatly during the year and can certainly be unpredictable at times.
