Unfortunately a nice use for shadow spells was removed in osrs. Shadow spells used to deal damage instantly (as opposed to having a slow projectile, like the rest), so you could stack damage using magic, by casting a blood spell from max distance, followed by a shadow spell. While using ibans you gain runes. Just wait till trident. You literally have no real need for barrows gear till after that point anyways (cerb/gwd). Saves time in the long run.
