If you cast level 1 20% quality Animate guardian, he won't have the requirements to wear any of the gear you put on him. Best weapon for animate guardian is the kingmaker (make one by vendoring a soul taker, heartbreaker and one fusing) it will grant you and your minions item rarity, culling strike, perms fortify and 50 crit multi.
