When i broke both my elbows two or so years ago, eventhough they were just hairline fractures it still took a month to where i could use my arms again, and an extra 4 months for them to be fully healed. Fractures take longer than a week to fully heal. The external damage may heal sooner, but keep the effected part splinted (if possible) stay on top of the pain, rest/sleep as much as you can, and just hang in there.
