When I ride in a perfect straight line and don't move the handle bars there is no noise even when pedalling. It's only when i'm pedaling and moving the handle bars a bit. Battery fires happen because lithium batteries shouldn't be overcharged, and must be regulated by a BMS (battery management system). During charging, if the BMS has a failure then yea a fire can happen. It can catch fire if there is a battery leak with an idle battery, but that's very rare. 1.Will cost you around $1k, depending on battery size you go with, and you will get the performance of ebikes that start at $2500 and up.
