Rescue Village is a participating shelter in Pets for the Elderly, which is a program that allows senior citizens to adopt a pet. Connecting an elderly person with a homeless companion animal gives both the gift of life, health and happiness. This program is available to seniors 60 years of age and older and requires a photo with the pet. Our Mission The Geauga County Dog Shelter takes in stray dogs throughout Geauga County. By law we have to hold a dog three business days - or 72 hrs - before we are able to adopt them into new loving homes. Every dog is vaccinated, heart worm tested, and spayed/neutered.
