It’s obvious that the original makers of these weapons were not especially concerned with their appearance. But the grain is nice, however faint, and the color is pretty light, resembling pine.

I was told and read that the SAR-1 was used as a training rifle for troops in the Romanian military.The WASR 3 will ship with one 30-round magazine, but hopefully the rifle has been tweaked to have better compatibility with 5.56 AK mags as the original was known to be finicky. The year you see on your front trunnion was from the rifle that it came off of. Chances are your rifle was put together within the last 10 years or so.
