The 454 has a higher average maximum pressure and higher recoil energy than the 480. 3. The Super Redhawk's cylinder has thicker walls and can handle higher pressures than the Super Blackhawk's. Based on this, I'm now leaning towards getting the Super Redhawk in 454 (model 5505), and the Super Blackhawk in 480 (model 0870).

The recoil is horrendous. You can carry a 9mm, 40 or .45 and that will give you more than you need for personal protection.I love my GP100 357 and really love to feel a recoil. So thinking how to step up and dreaming about 454 Casull. (Unfortunately I shot just 44 magnum, but any way. Nobody in the vicinity has 454 lol).
