There will be large gaps in any serial sequence and they were used out of sequence. ABL4000 was Jan 1983 and ADE6700 was Oct 1983.You can, however, get the approximate manufacture date free from S&W or from the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson. Frames were produced in batches and serial numbered at that time. When an order is received the frame is pulled, assembled and shipped.
