In all fairness, it usually doesn't even have time to do that attack due to how low the HP is, around 6-8 sword hits. Still, to avoid it it's almost like the thresher digging skill, see it vanish, wait just a little, roll. Now, you're in the Trial of One and, the orbs may be a bigger issue than the tacet itself.
