I looked at Goodman site and they recommend a larger suction line (1 1/8"). But their TP-107 long line set application for R-410A for a 4 ton unit shows suction line values at 3/4", 7/8", and 1 1/8". My interpretation from this table is a 3/4" suction could be used but you may lose 1% capacity of the system and the same with 7/8" line for 50 ...A conventional duct system is designed for .1 or .2 in.wc. (inches of water column) of duct pressure. The Unico system operates at approximately 1.5 in.wc. duct pressure. A conventional system will have supply duct velocity of 500 to 700 fpm, the Unico system is 1500 to 2000 fpm and the outlet supply velocity will be 1000 to 2000 fpm.We need it to move around 400 CFM of air. If it can't, adding return air might be the solution. Or, depending on your situation, there could be some other path to increased airflow. Whatever the case, we can help!
