In IWBUMS/41.54 exactly this is mentioned to be possible. Metal Drums can be moved with the furniture tool - wich works. And water can poured into them - wich doesn´t work. It cannot be on the tile DIRECTLY above the sink's tile and must be one of the 4 squares adjacent to it. ( I do not believe diagonal works ) You can have multiple rain barrels connected by using those 4 squares.If you can grab one of those it'll see you straight for a while. Put all the cooking pots that you've got outside to collect the rain. A few seconds in the oven and they'll be clean water. As people have pointed out, a rain collector above a sink will supply clean water to the sink. You'll need to get carpentry to level 4 to make a rain collector.
